ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

​Hi, I’m John O'Donoghue, founder of Clutch Driving Instruction.

​As a lifelong resident of Killarney, driving instruction is truly in my blood. I grew up steeped in the industry, learning the gold standard of patient, safe coaching from my mother, Kay O'Donoghue, who has successfully run her own driving school for over 30 years. That decades-long family legacy of local expertise, trust, and road safety is the foundation of everything I teach today.

​My mission at Clutch Driving Instruction is straightforward: to provide calm, low-stress, accredited driving lessons tailored entirely to your pace. Learning to drive is a major milestone, but it shouldn't feel nerve-wracking. Whether you are getting behind the wheel for the very first time or polishing your skills ahead of your driving test, my focus is on turning nervous habits into genuine confidence and safe skills for life.
